Nicoletta Filella is a classical pianist, composer and singer-songwriter on the one hand, and a clinical psychologist, cognitive psychotherapist and piano therapist on the other. After obtaining the teaching qualification, she became a tenured piano teacher and, in addition, a teacher in public schools in Milan. She holds a degree in piano from the conservatory "A. Vivaldi" of Alessandria, attained with top marks (10/10). Besides she holds a degree in clinical psychology with the highest marks (110/110), and between the years 2008 and 2013 she completed a four-year post-graduate specialization in cognitive psychotherapy at the University of Padua. On the strength of these skills, she has always combined music with psychotherapy in the different environments in which she has worked. During and after her conservatory years she discovered a passion for composition. She began to write, taking an interest in a variety of genres from different parts of the world; in addition to classical music, Nicoletta explored Balkan music, swing, flamenco, jazz, rock and electronic music. She performs at numerous concerts both as a solo pianist-composer and in a quintet-sextet-octet, or with her international orchestra. Nicoletta Filella is always on the piano or the piano and the voice, accompanied by tuba, drums, percussion, sax, violin, double bass, guitar and clarinet, depending on the performance. The pieces she performs in her concerts are of her own composition, written and arranged for piano, voice and orchestra or for solo piano. She also performs a repertoire of classical music, the world from which her passion for music was born. In this book, Nicoletta Filella has transcribed her works for solo piano from her most recent record "UNO", as well as one of her best-known songs: "Balkaniko". ALBUMS- Her first EP in English, A BIT OF ME (2012), was well received and appreciated; this was only the beginning of a great long journey for the composer. The second album, ALTRE ME (2016), is mainly in Italian even if there are hints of French, Spanish, and two entire tracks in English. What is special about this album is that it features a wide range of well-known musicians from the UK, Italy, the US, Germany, South Africa and Spain. Her third record, UNO, developed in notes in this book, was released in 2020. The album represents the artist's return to her roots as a classical pianist and composer.
